Vodafone to expand 5G network in Spain

Spanish telecommunications operator Vodafone announced plans to expand 5G services to five new cities in the coming months. As per reports in Spanish media, Vodafone Spain’s CEO Mr Antonio Coimbra highlighted that Vodafone is currently focused on expanding current 5G coverage in the 15 Spanish cities where it already offers the technology with current 5G coverage in these cities already reaching 50% on average. Some of the cities in which Vodafone already launched 5G include Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Bilbao and Valencia.

Vodafone initially launched 5G in Spain in June this year. In July 2018, Vodafone Spain started to deploy its 5G network in some of these cities with the deployment of a limited number of 5G nodes. The company previously said that it was working with Huawei and Ericsson in the deployment of the 5G network.
