DFMG Deutsche Funkturm GmbH has built the 30,000th location in Germany. Thus, the company underpins its role as the largest German provider of wireless infrastructure and one of the largest tower companies in Europe. CEO of Deutsche Funkturm Mr Bruno Jacobfeuerborn said that "We have literally 'built' our status as the leading German and one of the largest TowerCos in Europe through organic growth rather than through acquisitions. The Deutsche Funkturm primarily builds the mobile network for Deutsche Telekom, as an independent tower company offers its mast sites and towers but also all other providers for joint use. The development of white spots is an economic challenge, especially in rural areas, requiring new approaches. Here, the construction of parallel infrastructures is neither financially sensible nor desired by the local authorities. That's why we can use these locations to meaningfully support joint expansion.Expansion cooperation of Telekom, Vodafone and Telefónica.”

He added that "Nobody builds as much as we do in Germany. Especially in rural areas and with regard to the licensing requirements of the past frequency auction, our expansion will make a decisive contribution to a future-proof mobile radio infrastructure in Germany. With the allocation of frequencies, the mobile service providers are bound by supply requirements and obliged to do so by the end of 2022 to provide at least 98% of households per federal state, all federal highways and all railways with more than 2,000 passengers per day with at least 100 Mbit / s. This can only succeed through targeted intensive expansion of the infrastructure.”
