The digital revolution also arrives in the small municipalities of the Marche, where citizens will be able to navigate at a connection speed of 1 Gigabit per second thanks to the FTTH fiber optic network created by Open Fiber in the scope of Infratel calls. The marketing of services in the Region started from Montalto delle Marche, where the new phase of the BUL plan was illustrated this morning in a school in the Municipality connected with the new network.

In the white areas, peripheral areas and rural villages, of the Marche region, Open Fiber is building an entirely fiber-optic infrastructure in FTTH mode which will remain public property and will be managed by the company under concession for 20 years. OF's wiring plan in the region involves 360 thousand real estate units in 236 municipalities. The total investment is 90 million Euros. Open Fiber has already opened construction sites in 147 municipalities.

In Montalto delle Marche 986 real estate units were wired with an investment of over 405 thousand euros. Over 75% of the coverage was achieved through the reuse of existing infrastructure, without the need for excavation. The school building where the presentation event was held is the first PA office where the Open Fiber network connection service was activated.

Progressively, the connectivity services will be activated in all the municipalities of the Marche region by Open Fiber partner operators, which is a wholesale only operator: it does not sell fiber optic services directly to the end customer, but is active exclusively in the wholesale market, offering the access to all interested market operators.
