Mr Maximo Ibarra Steps Down as KPN CEO

KPN announces that Mr Maximo Ibarra will resign as CEO. His employment ends on September 30, 2019. Mr Maximo Ibarra resigns due to urgent family circumstances. He moved back to Italy where he accepted a new leadership position. For the next three months he will be busy transferring his work to his successor. This is not yet known.

His resignation is independent of the recent network outage.

Mr Maximo Ibarra, CEO of KPN said that “I have been working at KPN since 2017 and was appointed CEO in 2018. The timing is bad, but family circumstances leave me no choice. In the coming months I will spend all my time on a seamless transfer for my successor. ”

Mr Duco Sickinghe, Chairman of the Supervisory Board said that “The Supervisory Board regrets Maximo's decision, but respects it and accepts his resignation. The company is in good shape and well on its way to realizing its strategy. We are currently looking for a successor for Maximo. We wish Maximo all the best for the future. "
